Storage facility coming to Fountain Valley

Share

A large self-storage facility will open in Fountain Valley next year.

Rasmer Development Co., which owns six other storage facilities throughout the country, announced on Wednesday it will open the 97,000-square-foot facility in fall 2017 at 16842 Harbor Boulevard.

Formerly the site of an RV and boat storage yard, as well as a used-car dealership, the facility will be divided into two buildings.

One will include drive-up self-storage units. The other will be a three-level structure with elevator access to additional units with drive-up units along the perimeter.

Scott Ramser, president of the Tustin-based Ramser Development Co., said there will be about 700 units at the facility. He said prices for the units have not yet been determined.

Ramser described the units as “technologically advanced,” with climate controls and automated access so people can come in and out during business hours or while it’s closed.

People will also be able to sign up and rent units online.

Ramser said Fountain Valley was an ideal location for the facility.

“Fountain Valley has great neighborhoods and a great population that has demand for a clean new self-storage facility of this type,” he said.

Construction is expected to begin later this year.
